If browsing multiple tabs, the system constantly locks up and freezes (keep in mind, this is the same browser workflow I was using without issue prior to the update). If watching YouTube for example, out of nowhere the audio will distort and crackle and the playback will freeze while the system seemingly catches up with itself. The computer is delayed, locks up and seems generally slow and buggy. Thankfully, after updating to Monterey 12.4 the purple screen restart issue has been fixed however, I am noticing a HUGE decrease in performance. So, I thought that perhaps having waited as long as I had, Monterey might be ready and could potentially fix the purple screen restart issue I was seeing. Unfortunately though, my m1 was suffering from purple screen restarts each morning after waking up. Unfortunately, I don't have a Time Machine backup, so I'm at a loss for what to do next. I'm using a MacBook Pro 16" 2019 with an Intel CPU. I connected an external audio device and it didn't recognize it as well.
I've tried everything I can think of: sudo commands (killall, kex, Crustil), adding a new user (which briefly helped and recognized the audio device before it disappeared again), and performing both types of resets (NVRAM and SMC reset). Strangely, Photoshop works fine, so I'm puzzled about the issue's cause. Since then, almost everything is stuck and takes an eternity to load. Despite the damage, I can still work and see the screen.Īfter the incident, my computer froze. The screen cracked, and now there are a few vertical lines on the right side. (I guess inadvertently applied excessive pressure) This problem started when I accidentally applied too much pressure while holding my computer from the side of the screen. My computer is sluggish, there's no sound device (sound setting is empty), the WiFi is slow, and everything takes forever to load. I'm dealing with serious issues after upgrading to 13.5
